Lose Weight and Improve Your Health with this Easy Swap!

A really easy way to lose weight and improve your health is to swap out your soda (regular or diet), flavored coffee drinks (loaded with calories and sugar), and artificially sweetened beverage.

For a lot of us, it’s a habit we’ve formed. What is the trigger for you? Is it passing by the work lounge, cafeteria, fast food drive-thru, or the stash in your fridge or pantry?

According to studies, even diet soda increases our appetite. While it may contain no calories,  you actually end up eating more food to go along with it.

If you’re addicted to the caffeine, try substituting the sugary drinks with unsweetened tea, green tea, or coffee flavored with 2% milk and agave/stevia.
If you are not a big fan of plain water, try water with fresh fruit or unflavored carbonated water with a splash of fruit juice, if you just need some fizz in your drink.  Here is a easy and great way to use those ice trays to add color and nutrients to your water. I don't know about you, but I personally drink more water when it is flavored or has a little fizz to it.
Recipe adapted from  Feisty Veggies
Fruit (lemon, lime, orange, blue berries, raspberries, strawberries, etc.)
Herbs (mint, thyme, sage)
Plain water, coconut water, or carbonated water
Ice cube tray
Wash and cut your fruit and herbs into small pieces. Place ingredients into each square. Fill with water and freeze for a couple of hours. Place into a cup, fill with water, and hydrate!

By trading out your sugar or chemical-filled beverage for water you’re giving your body what it needs – proper hydration.
