Easy 1 Ingrediant Apple Fruit Roll Ups

If your kids are like mine, they are always hungry after school. Actually, they are hungry no matter what time or day. Keeping yummy snacks on hand for kids to grab between meal time, or out the door to the next activity, means that children will be eating healthy and not filling up on overly processed package foods.

There is something about fruit roll ups that children love. They taste good and are fun to eat. Here is an easy Apple Fruit Roll Up to make. These fruit roll ups only have one ingredient and are free of dyes. The natural sweetness comes the applesauce. You can even throw these in their lunch box. Kids love this recipe and parents win!

Be prepared, they won't last long in the house with kids around!
The key is to pour a thin-medium layer of applesauce onto the silpat or parchment paper. Not like the picture below or it will take forever to dehydrate or not dry evenly.

Other than that, the recipe is very easy!

Apple Fruit Roll Ups
Unsweetened organic applesauce
Silpat (optional but easier for removing the roll up)
Parchment paper
Cookie sheet
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees. Pour a layer of applesauce unto the parchment paper or silpat. Spread evenly and gently shake the pan to flatten the applesauce.  Bake for 6-8 hours
or until the outer edges of the applesauce have hardened. If left in the oven too long, and the sheet of applesauce is hard and brittle, rub some water onto the top of it and it will become pliable again. Remove and transfer to new parchment paper. Cut the fruit up into strips, roll, and your all done!
