Cinnamon Pumpkin Whole Wheat Drop Biscuits

Love a nice warm biscuit slathered with butter and agave or honey? Just in time for Thanksgiving, another pumpkin recipe!


Cinnamon Pumpkin Whole Wheat Drop Biscuits

2 cups whole wheat flour...
2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 ¼ teaspoon cinnamon 
½ teaspoon salt
5 tablespoons chilled unsalted butter, cut into pieces
1/3 cup fat free buttermilk
¾ canned pumpkin
3 tablespoons of agave or honey


Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Add pumpkin puree and mix. Add butter and cut with two knives or a pastry blender. Add butter milk and honey and mix well. Drop by teaspoons unto greased cooking sheet. Bake for about 20 minutes, checking after 15 minutes as some ovens may vary. Let cool. Slather with agave and butter and enjoy. Yields 16-18 biscuits.
